The Interfaith Seminary Course options
Training ministers in an inclusive global spirituality
Open Days
London – 12 July & 29 AugustEdinburgh – 5 July & 6 SeptemberManchester – 19 July & 13 September
Programmes starting Oct / Nov 2008
-
London weekend option:
The first year will start with a 3-day residential weekend near London, continue with six more weekends (each involving two training days, 9.30 to 5.30, in London, with students arranging their own accommodation), and finish with a 3-day residential retreat in the summer. The second year will also involve seven weekends and a final retreat.
-
Manchester weekend option:
Similar to the London weekend option, with the initial residential weekend being held in the Lake District (Cumbria), and the six weekends of two training days each in Manchester. As with all the programmes, each year will end with the summer retreat (venue yet to be decided, but likely to be the same for all four programmes).
-
Edinburgh fully residential weekend option:
This will involve five long weekends per year, each running Friday evening to Sunday, plus the summertime retreat. It is open to everyone who prefers a residential setting, and may also be of particular interest to students from outside the UK, as it will involve travelling less often than for the other options.
-
London midweek option:
This new option is intended for those who cannot easily attend at weekends and who wish to learn about the world's faith traditions within a group committed to personal awakening. At this stage, we envisage it as a one-year certificated course based on the first year of the two-year programme, though it might run to two years if interest is sufficient. If not, students wishing to complete their training as a minister will be able to switch to one of the other programmes for their second year. Study will be in 2- or 3-day training modules, held midweek.
